Vacation with Liveinout in Gulmarg

A skiing paradise

Gulmarg is pure poetry in nature, with its verdant meadows covered with bushes of wildflowers that mix into snow-capped mountains that have peaks that peek out of the skies and rushing mountain streams. This is a tiny hamlet in Jammu and Kashmir in the summer, but in wintertime, it becomes a snowy wonderland as skiers flock to its well-known slopes.

The majestic snow-capped mountains of the Pir Panjal range enclose the picturesque Gulmarg valley, making it a little slice of paradise. This field of flowers, which is the meaning of Gulmarg, is an ethereal sight that has inspired poets and artists for ages. It is composed of emerald-green meadows, deep ravines, and hills covered with pine forests.Gulmarg, which is only 52 kilometers from Srinagar, is 2,730 meters above sea level and is covered with snow in the winter.

As a result, it becomes a center for winter adventure activities like snowboarding, off-piste skiing (skiing on non-traditional ski routes), heli-skiing, and snowboarding down a mountain. Its slopes are ranked as the seventh best in Asia for skiing.

Situated atop the majestic Apharwat peak, Gulmarg may be reached via the Gulmarg Gondola — the world's second-highest cable car trip. This gondola trip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, gliding over hills and valleys and appearing to vanish into mist and clouds!Royalty and nobility used to have their vacations at Gulmarg.

It is stated that this valley was initially discovered by Sultan Yousuf Shah, who ruled Kashmir from 1579 until 1586 AD. And gave it the name Gulmarg from its undulating grassy hills covered in wildflowers. Jehangir, the Mughal emperor, also loved it. With the founding of the Ski Club of India by the British in 1927, skiing made its debut at Gulmarg.      .
